SCD Operational Excellence (OPEX)  Advanced Specialist is responsible for supporting global and/or regional initiatives for Supply Chain Deliver, with specific focus in Customer Service. This position may also lead and/or participate in  process and system improvements to gain productivity and efficiencies.


  • Implementing strategic initiatives within the Celanese Order to Cash (“O2C”) SAP system and business processes for customer service.
  • Work cross functionally and with internal and/or external resources as required to define scope and objectives of projects
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
  • Provide subject matter expertise, support, and training
  • Driving productivity improvements, harmonization and sustainability
  • Driving all SCD business processes toward global standardization
  • Assessing the company’s risk for process changes
  • Troubleshooting, resolving and documenting system issues
  • Providing technical assistance and training to super users and end users
  • Performing system tests and validating process modifications
  • Defining and documenting new business processes and best practices
  • Coaching, mentoring and conducting training sessions
  • Serving as liaison between Operations Team and IT Team for O2C system issues
  • Global process ownership for assigned processes
  • Other duties/activities as assigned



Bachelor degree – General business or other
• Advanced Analytical Skills
• Supply Chain/Order to Cash/Customer Service Knowledge
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Advanced Order to Cash SAP ERP knowledge
• Holistic approach to problem solving
• Ability to work collaborative with others and build strong alliances
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational level and gain support
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Flexible to work late (when needed)
• Successful application of project management and change management skills
• Experience in leading and/or participating in projects or process improvements

• 3-5 years Project Management experience
• Preferred: Knowledgeable of PMBOK or similar project management methodology
• Preferred: Lean/Six Sigma principles
• Ability to lead people that do not directly report to the position
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions
